On October 5th, 2019 an arsonist entered Emily Carr University of Art and Design campus in Vancouver, BC and attempted to spread fire throughout the newly built structure. They ignited large amounts of paper to start a fire in the nearby atrium. In seconds, the arsonist’s attempt failed once the fire alarm system set off and McKeon’s protection system deployed. The H200 steel horizontal fire shutter and active sprinklers worked collectively to preserve the building.
